REGISTERED SENIOR ARCHITECT

Houston, TX, USA

JZ Design Group is currently seeking a Registered Senior Architect (RA, NCARB) with 12-17 years' experience to join our Architectural / Healthcare (interest)/ Interiors team. As an Architect, in partnership with the Project Manager and Project Designer, you are responsible for project development and progress from start to finish.

Interested in other states, including but not limited to the State of Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, Louisiana and Massachusetts. Other states are a plus.

Responsibilities include:

Leadership:

SENIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER (Technical/PA)

As a JZID Senior Interior Designer (Technical/PA), your role is to combine creativity and technical skills with thorough understanding of the design and production process, in order to produce highly creative, environmentally conscious and budget responsive spaces for clients. You should have exceptional design technical skills, a background in workplace design or interior architecture and a portfolio of innovative design concepts. You must be an integral part of your team and actively foster a respectful, creative, and inspiring design environment.

Responsibilities:

  • PA “Project Architect” assignments that include detailed construction documentation ability to take the interiors project from Design Development, into Construction, and Construction Administration.
  • Supply strategically minded design support for organization, production, and execution of design projects.
  • Participate in seamless collaboration with internal/external core & shell teams, professional consultants, and other strategic partners.
  • Have strong knowledge in specifications, selection of materials and finishes, and on-going coordination with furniture vendors through a bidding process or negotiated contract and installation.
  • Participate in design iterations with team members in generating, 3D modeling, using Revit, Sketchup, Enscape and/or other modeling or rendering software in conjunction with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Lead and take part in generating interior architectural, finishes, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, and details along with corresponding specifications and schedules.

As a JZID Interior Designer, your role is to combine creativity and technical skills with thorough understanding of the design and production process, in order to produce highly creative, environmentally conscious and budget responsive spaces for clients. You should have exceptional design skills, a background in workplace design or interior architecture and a portfolio of innovative design concepts. You must be an integral part of your team and actively foster a respectful, creative, and inspiring design environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Work under a Project Manager through all phases of the design process.
  • Perform Interior Design assignments that include programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning, construction documentation and construction administration.
  • Participate in the selection and presentation of finish selections, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lighting.
  • Generate Demolition Plans, Construction Plans, Power & Communication Plans, Reflected Ceiling Plans, Finish Plans & Furniture Plans.
  • Complete construction documents, including elevations, details, specifications, and material selections needed for bidding, permitting and construction.
